Name: Queen Adèle
Age: 32
Place: Kingdom Provence, in the early years of France
Era: Early Middle Ages, about 1100 a.d.
Backstory:
The protagonist is the king’s wife, a woman of great intelligence and a secret passion for mathematics. Since childhood she has been fascinated by numbers, logic, and the invisible patterns that govern the world. However, inside the palace, her talent has always been suppressed by her husband, the king. He’s afraid that a smart and wise woman like the queen might challenge his authority and forbids her to teach or share her knowledge with anyone.
In her secret backroom full of mathematical books, she secretly studies and expands her knowledge. She’s dreaming of a world where knowledge belongs to everyone, regardless of gender or class.
Motivations:
She deeply wishes to share her knowledge with the people of the kingdom. She believes that education and equality are the true foundations of prosperity. Her main inner conflict is between obedience and freedom — between loyalty to the king and loyalty to her own convictions.
One day she made a decision: she wants to share her knowledge disguised. At night, she puts on a blue coat and a blue hat to hide her identity. Disguised like that, she travels from village to village, teaching all people the basics of mathematics and beyond. Soon, people start whispering stories about a mysterious woman known as “The Blue Mathematician”.
Narrative:
At first, she lives in fear and silence, convinced that this is her duty. But her wish for justice and equality grows stronger than that. Her secret lessons begin to change the kingdom — farmers learn to organize their harvests, craftsmen improve their work, and people begin to believe in their own intelligence.
When the king finally discovers her secret, the people already see her as a symbol of wisdom and courage. Instead of punishing her, he is forced to recognize her intellectual power. The queen, once invisible, becomes the founder of the first school in the kingdom, and her blue chair turns into a symbol of shared knowledge.
